Le déanaí , bhí trí dhaltaí ealaíne ón 6ú bliain páirteach i gceardlann ealaíne san Ionad Cultúrtha Reigiúnach i Leitir Ceanainn. Ag comhoibriú le daltaí ó scoileanna eile aitiúla agus ag feidhmiú mar’ coiméadaí’ chuir siad taispeántas ealaíne le céile a bheas oscailte don pobal ó 15 Deireadh Fómhair go 17 Nollag. Bhain siad an sult as an eispéireas iomlán agus míle buíochas don ICR as ucht an deis iontach. Eolas eile thíos sa litir seo ag an Máistreás Uí Chanainn!
Hi Annemarie,
I just wanted to get in touch to say that your students were amazing at the ‘Curate Your Own Exhibition’ workshop!
Together we had lots of chats about art, wrote a curatorial manifesto, learnt about art writing, installed an exhibition, wrote the exhibition text, designed the handout and created marketing content… in just two days!
Their curated exhibition Everyday Blues will open on Saturday 15 October, 6pm to 9pm, in Gallery 2 at the Regional Cultural Centre, until Saturday 17 December. All family, friends and teachers are invited to attend.
“The title of this exhibition Everyday Blues was derived from two common themes we saw throughout the works. The former being that the shared subject matter was everyday, normal matter, and the latter being blue, and monotony being a common factor, in the literal and metaphorical.
This exhibition features work by Pauline Bewick, Carey Clarke, Felicity Clear, Hannah Fitz, Margaret Fitzgibbon, Martin Gale, Patrick Jolley and Ciarán Murphy.”
I’ve also attached a few photos and a promotional video that the participants made.
Best, Rachel
