“Shannon Cunningham (Coláiste Ailigh, Leitir Ceanainn & Letterkenny Blaze) was selected as one of 21 players for the Irish U16 Women’s Squad for 2018/2019. The Ireland Under 16 Women’s teams travel to Minsk, Belarus this weekend for an international tournament.  The tournament is part of the squads’ preparations ahead of next summer’s FIBA U16 European Championship Division B.  Shannon along with her the rest of the team will play Belarus, Poland and Lithuania over the three day tournament.  Ireland Under 16 women’s head coach Andy Gill stated: “The three games will act as a learning experience for the players and will demonstrate to them the demands of European elite basketball.” Shannon is a member of the Coláiste Ailigh’s u16 team who have reached the All-Ireland school’s semi-final which will be played after Christmas.
